Dr. Ciaverelli brings decades of experience in psychiatric practice, treating a wide range of conditions from mood disorders to psychotic disorders. For five years, he served as the Behavioral Health Medical Director for CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, where he oversaw all mental health–related medical decisions, managed medical staff, and developed innovative clinical programs. Prior to that, Dr. Ciaverelli spent 20 years with Magellan Behavioral Health, serving as the Medical Director for CareFirst as well as the After-Hours Medical Director for Magellan.

In July 2025, Dr. Ciaverelli joined Equanimity Integrated Behavioral Health & Wellness as Medical Director, where he currently leads a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurse practitioners, and therapists dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care.

Dr. Ciaverelli earned his Doctor of Medicine from George Washington University, graduating with Phi Beta Kappa honors, and is a certified member of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Married with two wonderful children, Dr. Ciaverelli enjoys spending his spare time playing tennis, reading, listening to music, watching movies, and pursuing his interests as an avid collector.
